It’s October, and about the time of year when I lament over my lack of fitness discipline and plan to make changes for the new year.
I’ve joined #FitReaders, hosted by Felicia from The Geeky Blogger & Jen from That’s What I’m Talking About, in the past. I have not participated in regular weekly updates, but still find it to be an inspiring network. I plan to get more involved with it.
Reading and blogging are sedentary activities. I hope to focus more on physical fitness.
Here’s a brief article from WebMd: Women Over 50 Fitness Tips.
“The effects of exercise are so potent that it influences every physiological system in the body for the better.”
It includes a helpful link about How To Stretch.
I have some tools that have worked in the past. I plan to resume using them.
Accountability helps, so I plan to resume tracking my diet and exercise. If I fall off the wagon, I’ll get back on.
Here are some of the tools in my toolbox and resorces:
- MyFitnessPal (for tracking diet)
- My Fitbit (for tracking steps)
- #FitReaders (a social fitness network) – #FitReaders Commit To Exercise For October! (Monthly Check-ins are on the first Fri. night of each month)
- Local fitness center
