I’ve come to realize that PostingForNow has become my public on-line identity. I’ve had second thoughts about giving up all of my PostingForNow social networking accounts, especially this blog.
Many of you have been following PostingForNow as my ‘Book Blog’. When I decided to broaden my focus in my retirement life, I thought it was time to end my blog. However, after living without posting on it for awhile, I’ve realized I’d like to continue to center my on-line social activities with it.
It all started when I signed up for ‘StitchFix‘, an on-line clothes styling service. They wanted to know more about me so they could pick out outfits for me. They wanted me to share my social networking links. I had been wanting to learn more about Pinterest and checked the status of my account. I hadn’t pinned much, but my user name was ‘postingfornow.’ That was when I realized I had scooped up that id all over social media (my blog, my email, my Facebook page, twitter, Google+, GoodReads and others, some I can’t even remember.)
Aside from all of that, I feel I have made some true friends via my blog, PostingForNow, and I don’t want to give up the connections I’ve made.
So, to make a long story short, I am starting over with Posting For Now, and plan to share my thoughts on (to borrow a phrase from my exercise coach) ‘Living The Dream’ – Retirement. I am not completely sure of what direction this will take me in.
I will probably continue, once in awhile, to write about books, but not to the extent I was.
I will switch my email updates to a monthly newsletter. (If you have already subscribed to my email updates, you will receive the monthly newsletter.)
I am still learning about social networking. I know there is much more to it, than the few areas I’ve connected with. The various mediums appeal to different people for different reasons. I’m not sure if blogging will continue to be my main focus, but I plan to continue to post once in awhile.
Thanks for following along with me on this journey!
