Many of you may know from viewing my ‘Good Things‘ posts that I am a fan of Jill Wellington’s photography. I recently checked her blog out and found her latest post was about the type of photography I’m investigating: Macro Photography. In her post she writes about a technique she used at home to take macro photos of flowers.
I followed her lead and purchase a tri-fold white board and two foam core boards, making a home ‘studio’ on my kitchen table. I also purchased a book of scrapbook pages to use for backgrounds.
My first subject was a small purple orchid I recently purchased from a nursery. The morning I worked on this image (4.18.18) was overcast. My window faces the morning sun. I think that will be the best time to practice.
I purchased a subscription to PhotoShop CC (Creative Cloud). I’m sure I have a lot to learn when it comes to this software. Here is a link to the, 3.5 minute, video instructions I followed in creating the above image.

I also purchased the url: PhotosByPF. I am investigating setting up a shop/portfolio. I’ve temporarily removed my portfolio from PostingForNow, but will continue to work on it and will share it again at a later point. I plan to continue to post on PostingForNow as well.
Thanks for stopping by!
