I’ve recently added a link here, on PostingForNow’s menu, to my new photography website: PhotosByPF. (PF are my initials.)
In researching the best place to create a photography portfolio, I found Pixels.com offered the ability to display photos securely and in an attractive way. The bonus is that it provides the ability (world-wide) to purchase prints or notecards using the images. There are other items that can be purchased as well, including such things as T-Shirts! They set a base price for items and the owner can set a mark-up. So far, I’ve selected the default mark-ups. There are some other features, like their community of artist, but I wont go into any more detail right now.
Pixels’ customer service was very responsive when I requested to replace my full name with PhotosByPF.
To get started with my homemade macro photography studio, I asked my husband to purchase some flowers for me when he went to the grocery store. He purchased a bunch of daisies. Truthfully, when I saw them I was a little disappointed. They did not have the imagined wow factor I expected.
After several false starts, I developed an image of each color daisy in the bunch that I was happy with. The day was slighlty overcast, but there was enough sun to take photos. I thought the daisies themselves were not perfect, but then discovered, in a way, they were. I am sure I will be taking a closer look at more daisies in the future. (I ordered a framed print of Pink and White Daisy, shown above.)
