It's Monday What Are You Reading

It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Each week Kathryn @ The Book Date hosts the It’s Monday!  What Are YOU Reading? meme where we can meet on-line with others and share what we are reading.  It’s a great way to connect with others.  Be sure to stop by her site to learn more about what others are reading.  Thanks Kathryn for hosting this fun meme.

Early last week I received the Kindle Paperwhite e-reader after purchasing it from Amazon.  The first book I am reading on it is A Dangerous Collaboration (A Veronica Speedwell Mystery) (March 12, 2019) by Deanna Raybourn.  I downloaded the ARC from NetGalley.  I expect to receive the hard copy from Berkley Books, Penguin Random House today.  This will be my first novel by this author.  She has written many others.

I also ordered a portable wireless speaker to connect w/ my Kindle.  I thought I would try Whispersync.  However, I was deterred from that as it requires the purchase of both the kindle and audio versions of the novel.  I did receive two free audible books w/ my kindle purchase.  The first book I plan to try is one that my niece recommended awhile ago.  My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry: A Novel (June 16, 2016)  by Fredrik Backman (Henning Koch, Translator).

I reviewed Beartown (April 25, 2017) by this author.  (Read my review here.) He has written other books as well.

  2. I love my Kindle but I don’t have the Paperwhite version. I enjoyed A Dangerous Collaboration but thought some of the earlier books in the series were better. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  3. Happy Monday! I have listend to In Pieces by Sally Fields and Becoming by Michelle Obama. Enjoyed both books. After reading I Pieces I wanted to go watch some of her movies I had not seen. She has been a favorite of mine. Ejoyed the read and her honesty of the strugles she went thru. I always like Michele Obama and was curious and enjoyed the book very much. It was fun hearing her story since she had been the first lady for 8 years.
